It’s been a little over two weeks now since Ben started on his new protocol. He’s been back to the accupuncturist each week to check on his progress. It hasn’t been easy.
The first full week, Ben did not feel well at all. He was very tired and felt sick in general. He was also starving. But when he returned to the doctor, they said he’d moved from a 6 on the “bad” scale (out of 100; 1 being the worst) to a 20. This was good, but much too fast. He’d been detoxing too much at once, more than his body could handle, which is why he’d felt so bad.
The doctor backed off his supplements, moving his Parotid down to 4 instead of 5, and removing a second detox supplement. He also recommended stopping the additional supplements I had chosen because they might “make it work too well.”
The second week, Ben felt better, but still not well. He struggles to eat enough, even when there is a ton of food available. His tastes keep changing. What tastes “amazing” one day may not taste good at all the next (I feel like we have two pregnant women in the house when it comes to food…). He’s also generally felt weak and tired.
The doctor says at his second appointment (yesterday) that he is still detoxing too fast, and backed him off the supplements more. He also said that it will take at least a few months to get completely “done.” Ben is disappointed, because he was hoping for 5 – 6 weeks, not months. But I knew it would be longer, because it took him a long time to get that way. I’m okay with it. But really, what’s the alternative? Not taking care of the problem?
We’re slowly making progress, though. And that’s what matters. We also just got a new Berkey Light water filter, so that we always have enough clean water! That’s pretty exciting. We’ve been using it a TON and even filling old gallons (that we used to use for RO water) so we have some “saved up” for making ice, kombucha, taking with us places, etc. Next month, you’ll hear all about this when we do a clean water series…and there might be a giveaway! (So if you don’t subscribe yet…you might to do so now so you don’t miss it!)

Interesting-didn't know it would take that long to clear it all out properly. Properly being w/o killing oneself with the toxic overlaod! I have not been tested yet, but suspect there might be some arsenic poisoning happening with me too. It's been good to read about this.
