Here I am, almost 38 weeks….
Of course, by the time you read this (I’m writing Wednesday morning), the baby may already be here. Tuesday I decided that I absolutely had to go through the kids’ stuff and create a bunch of homeschooling materials (at least it’s done now?). Then I had to clean out the junk drawer in the kitchen, which has been messy for…months. I didn’t finish though because standing over it was hurting my back too much.
This led to quite a lot of crying and being upset about a bunch of different things (legitimate things, but which were not exactly new), feeling jittery and tired and strange.
By morning I’d had a headache for two days, my stomach was upset, I still felt jittery and strange and like crying, and I started to have random, minor contractions.
That’s where we find me now. It will not be that long. My first two were born just past 39 weeks and at 38.5 weeks, so having a baby right at 38 weeks would be expected and not weird at all. I don’t have everything done, but I’m okay with that. I don’t want to do any more now.
If not today/tomorrow, it will definitely be soon. I’ve been expecting a long pre-labor since last week (Monday). This fits perfectly into that. I’m expecting a rather fast “real” labor once things actually get started. But of course no one ever knows!

Hi Kate,
I'm anxiously waiting to hear the news that your baby has arrived! I'm at 37 weeks with our first child so it has been extra fun for me to follow your updates and experiences. I've learned a great deal from your website too! Following your advice, several days ago I went to the chiropractor for the very first time. My left pelvis was tilted backward; after the adjustment I slept soundly for the first time in weeks and have continued to feel better! It's comforting to know that my pelvis is now in an optimal position for birth.
Thanks for your work! Many blessings to you and your family!
