Real Food Confessions : Malissa
I will not compromise on eggs. We recently went on a trip with family. I went to the store in the very small town to get eggs. I was pleasantly surprised to see they carried a local organic, cage free egg. Sadly, they were out. I was forced to buy regular, white eggs. They yolks were pastel and bland. I ate one egg and that was it. From now on, I’ll travel with my local eggs somehow.
We always have eggs in our fridge. They are one of my favorite go-to protein snacks.
What’s your best tip for eating real food in the real world?
I’d love for my tip to be kitchen based and profound. However, I’m going to be practical. Find a local place that serves real food. Find out what farms they use. Talk to the owners. Build a relationship with them. Be loyal. If you are going to eat outside your house, eat there. You can still eat locally, support local business, and feel confident about what is going in your family’s bodies.
