What are others saying about Simply Summer?

“What a lovely collection of recipes for the warm summer months. Everything is simple, fresh and makes me want to get out and barbecue!  As my family has moved to a whole foods diet I’ve found it challenging to have guests over. The recipes in Simply Summer are ideal for hosting: flavorful foods (for them) that are also whole foods (for me). In particular I’m excited to try the Broccoli Cheddar and Cheddar Bacon dips. The ingredients are whole foods but the result sounds like it will suit all palettes. Also can’t wait to try the Salty Caramel Ice Cream.”  –Rachel Jonat, www.theminimalistmom.com

“A super collection of fresh summer recipes to please the whole family. Recipes are full of flavor, easy to prepare, and don’t require lots of time. Whether you’re looking for a meal you can make without heating up the house, or a side-dish to bring to a picnic, Simply Summer has it all. Indulge your taste buds without sacrificing your health. ”  –Lea Harris, www.nourishingtreasures.com

“I was drooling over every recipe in Simply Summer. These aren’t my old favorite recipes; they’re fresh and original – without requiring strange ingredients I’ve never heard of. From Kate’s pasta salad to her salty caramel ice cream, I can’t wait to eat my way through this cookbook!”  –Tara Ziegmont, www.feelslikehomeblog.com

“Just reading these dishes makes me salivate.  I’m excited for the warm summer to come, with cool dishes and treats to serve!  Not only does Kate have complete meal recipes and ideas that keep your kitchen cool, there are many dressings/condiments and ice creams that won’t make your kids jump off the wall with sugar overload!” — Sara, www.yourthrivingfamily.com

“Kate’s newest book, Simply Summer, is simply that. She has taken all the guesswork out of meal planning for the summer months and has provided recipes for foods that are real, uses ingredients I can easily find or already have, and are simple.  She even includes recipes for several sides and shares what her family likes to pair them with.  Salads, sides, main dishes, desserts, drinks and even sauces and dressings are included in this great cookbook that includes over 30 recipes for enjoying summer’s bounty!  This is a great option for baby stepping into eating real food.”  –Jen Steed, www.happylittlehomemaker.com

Simply Summer is the must-have recipe collection for any family who loves to enjoy all that the season has to offer! I knew that Kate would create some fabulous recipes and as always, Simply Summer does not disappoint. The mere fact that I started salivating profusely before I even finished reading her first section (Salads and Dips) should be proof enough that this book is worth every penny! Kate keeps the featured recipes light and easy to prepare. You won’t be stuck in a hot kitchen, laboring over ingredient-intensive meals. I love that most of Kate’s recipes ARE free of nuts, eggs, grains, peanuts, fish which is a huge plus in my home! In addition, almost all of her recipes could easily be modified to fit the dietary needs and tastes of any family. My absolutely favorite thing about Simply Summer is the fact that Kate used the word “goitrogenic.” That’s just awesome!”  –Jennifer Saleem, www.hybridrastamama.com

“I was so excited to hear that Kate’s new cookbook was going to be about summer food! I really look forward to each of her Ebooks! As a mom of 4, I find that summertime is often more hectic around mealtime than the school year because we are always on the go. It is really important for me to plan real food meals ahead to avoid staring into the refrigerator aimlessly at 5PM! I was re-inspired to cook real, delicious, simple food this summer with Kate’s new book, Simply Summer. It will definitely make life easier having the choices from this book. From Bacon-Wrapped Chicken with Italian Salsa to Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, each recipe is mouth watering and screams summertime! I’m so happy to have this book and can’t wait to incorporate these recipes for a tasty summer!”  –Sarah Outlaw, www.RealFoodOutlaws.com

“Kate has captured the essence of summer with the recipes in her latest book, Simply Summer. Her recipes focus on in-season, readily available whole-food ingredients that have been creatively crafted into tasty and nutritious meals that will appeal to the whole family. Best of all, Kate’s recipes are uncomplicated and won’t have you fussing for too long in the kitchen when you’d rather be outdoors with your friends and family.  I know I’m going to get a lot of use out of this book over the summer!”  –Debbie Plaistowe, www.easynaturalfoods.com

“This book blew me away with the variety of family-friendly recipes it has! There are many recipes that are great easy-to-throw-together recipes for when company comes over. The directions are detailed and clear. I love that there is such a wide variety – from entrees, to dips, to desserts! The recipes that I can’t wait to try the most are the Bacon Cheddar Dip, Broccoli Cheddar Dip, Garlic Green Beans, Pita Chips and the ice cream and sorbet (I just got an ice cream maker for Mother’s Day!). I love that the recipes are all Whole Food based and yet, I can easily find the ingredients needed to make them.  Modern Alternative Mama has outdone herself again!”  –Becky Borgia, http://growingupnaturallyinhomechildcare.blogspot.com/

“Kate has continued her tradition of sharing delicious, family-friendly recipe collections with Simply Summer. Just reading through the Table of Contents makes you long for flip-flops, cut-off jeans and everything summer!  The Bacon Cheddar Dip has quickly become a frequent request for evenings out on the front porch (we’ve even served it with apples wedges!), and the Mexican-Style Pork Roast has put a very welcome new twist on one of our favorite meals.  The Tropical Punch is near genius: the healthy fat in the coconut milk helps prevent the sugar high (and subsequent crash) of typical summer refreshments such as juice boxes and popsicles. But don’t let the kids drink it all… You’ll want to try some over ice with bit of light rum. 🙂  I’m so excited to dive further into these summery recipes. The allergen references after each recipe have made this a great reference for not just our family, but when entertaining, as well. Our summer will be brighter with fresh salads, new dips to try, easy seasonal meals and, of course, refreshing desserts from Simply Summer!”  –Jennifer Voss, http://www.dishragdiaries.com

“During the fun summer months, you don’t want to be sweating in a hot kitchen all day, but you also don’t want to compromise your family’s health and nutrition. Kate offers a wonderful solution with the recipes in Simply Summer. These whole food recipes are easy to prepare, nutritious, and tasty. Simply Summer includes cool treats, grilled options, and refreshing salads and beverages among other delectable choices. Your picnics just got healthier…and tastier, too!”  –Christy Bagasao, www.TheSimpleHomemaker.com
